Memorandum of Understanding

between

The Internet Industry Association of Singapore
(Singapore)

and

The United States Internet Industry Association
(USA)

and

The Internet Industry Association
(Australia)

and

The Internet Service Providers Association of South Africa
(South Africa)

AfrISPA
(Africa)

(collectively “the Parties”)

Whereas:

  1. The Parties are Internet industry associations in their respective countries;
  2. The Parties seek to provide representation for companies within the geographic boundaries of their nations or regions, and to encourage the development of the global Internet and online industries; and
  3. The Parties deem it in their mutual interest to establish and maintain communications and a working relationship with each other;
  4. The communications and working relationship between the Parties is to be developed with a view to friendly cooperation on the basis of the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit,

It Is Hereby Agreed That:

  1. By approving the signature of this Memorandum of Understanding the Boards of Directors/Management Committees of the Parties grant to one another the right to represent themselves as members of the other in good standing and as an affiliate organization of one another, and in order to achieve this the Parties will extend an invitation for complimentary membership to each other. Each Party will provide to the other up to two members of each organization to be designated contacts for purposes of communication between the Parties.
  2. The Parties may agree to share information (to the extent permissible by law); will work together on issues of common interest and credo; will provide support (in a form to be agreed) to one another in any endeavors that meet the approval of the respective Boards of Directors/Management Committees; will grant the right to hyperlink to one another’s web sites; and other benefits of membership as the respective Boards of Directors/Management Committees may see fit to approve.
  3. In the event of any dispute or disagreement in the implementation of this Memorandum of Understanding, the relevant Parties shall resolve the matter amicably by consultation or negotiation in the spirit of cordiality and mutual respect.
  4. Any change or modification to this Memorandum of Understanding shall be mutually agreed upon and executed in writing by the Parties.
  5. A party may terminate this Memorandum of Understanding by giving 14 days notice to the other parties.
